⛓️DropChain

Full technical details for our orbit chain are still being designed. More detail to be provided soon, see the summary above or explore the code on GitHub

Overview

DROPcmdk is planning to launch a dedicated music registration chain, using the technology provided by Arbitrum Orbit. This dedicated chain will protected by end user KYC processes and audio fingerprinting and will be access by everified users only, including distribution companies.

From our years of learning, we have identified that best path towards Web3 technology adoption by the music industry is to work in with existing processes and parties, rather than against them as most web3 music projects do.

The network will use PoS validation, via staking of the $CDMK token, with roles beyond validation such as curation and moderation. The DROPcmdk Orbit Chain and it's associated services will consist of the following properties:

  • IPFS gateway for music metadata and media storage

  • Optional Public/Private layer for media streaming, data and payments

  • Payment details

  • Licensing contracts

  • KYC API

  • Two-way music distributor integration

  • Cross-chain EVM media delivery

Through this combination of technology and services, the DROPcmdk Orbit chain will be able to help existing non-web3 artists, labels and distributors get access to new revenue streams and overtime, build speed efficiency and transparency into the music industry via Arbitrum.

Most importantly, the technology will also facilitate a deeper connection between creators and fans that persists beyond the walls of big tech media delivery platforms, extending into IRL events and deeper community technology integrations such as discord, telegram and artists own websites.

Accessing the DROPcmdk catalogue via Arbitrum Orbit and the $CMDK token will mean anyone can build a connected music store or interactive experience of their own.
